Our thoughts and prayers are with Scott as he goes through this tough time and we are hoping he will be back with us in the office soon. If you have called the office recently you would know Scott has not been in the office for a while, the reason for this is Scott has unfortunatelly been quite unwell. As a number of you are aware Scott was our man in charge of keeping an eye on the forum. The other issue that has been raised in this thread is the issue of support on this forum from Haltech staff.

We will also make the applicable software and firmware available for download via this forum so that you our customers can try out the new software and give us some feedback on both the documentation and the software. So this is what we are doing, we are going to compile the software and support docs over the next day or two and post them in a thead on this forum. Having said all this and taking into consideration the interest this topic has created on the forum we have decided to get YOUR feedback on what the quicktune software is like. There are alot more considerations that a company needs to take on board before releasing a feature like quicktune than most customers understand. Add to that the possibility of your product being bad mouthed for having a poor tune after using an autotune software, its really not a simple process of write some software and send it out. As you may expect this is no easy task as each person has a different background with different expectations of what the software should do and its levels of functionality. The reason as yet no public release has been made is because we have been trying to release a version of software that every one of our beta testers are happy with. Hello everyone on this forum, id like to clear a few things up so no one is in the dark with whats been going on at Haltech.ДЇirstly the autotune/quicktune feature is something we have poured alot of hours and resources into and had many versions running and tested by many of our valued dealers. We as a collective, have more knowledge than any one man! but more men would be even better. Maybe we need a section of faults and fixes / possible fixes for each motor ie SR20 / 4G63 / 2J / 3SGTE / RB25 etc etc

If one person from haltech was souly to monitor this forum an help diagnose and fix problems, I guess more people would hold back there comments and suggestion as an 'Expert' has given an answer and who knows best but the 'Expert' <- not true i knowД«ut we all know not everything is as it seems, well not in engine fault diagnosing anyway, We need anyone with a valid idea to put if foward. but i guess with time constraints they cant be everywhere. It's places like this forum that, fix most of the problems and help with the development, Yes it would be better if there was an active staff member of haltech, on here 24/7. I'm afraid service is one of the biggest problems these days, nobody wants to step up. But he fixed the unit and returned it to me at no charge.

I had some issues with the E8 Not really warranty covered.

One thing i will say I have had dealings with Scott at Haltech Sydney and his service was above what would normally be expected. the easy half even.ДЄnd I expect that Haltech has gone on Holiday, and back in Jan. Mind you, that was only so we could check everything, and so we could drive it to the dyno.ДЄnd you still need to tune timing anyway, so autotune only does half of the equation. Some more time to get it to be economical, but it drove fine. If autotune is only used for idle/cruise then I wouldn' even bother, that is the easiest part of the map to tune on the road, as you are always in that area.Дў0minutes tuning on the road (someone else driving) and I had MTM A4 1.8T driving up to 3psi, hills and motorway all fine. maybe not able to sue, but peeps will feel that the feature let them down if their engine goes pop, and rubbish the product, even if it is their install/setup which caused it. Wolf and Autronic have autotune, no idea about the HKS F-con.ДЄnd. I have worked with these, and can get them to work well, I just choose not to use them if the choice is mine. None that I have seen anyway, and worked with quite a few.Д®manage Ultimate has limited usability due to the fact that because it is a piggy-back you can't tune anywhere the oem ECU is in closed loop.
